About Lessons
Charlotte feels strongly about accepting students of all abilities and levels of musical interest in her studio. Everyone can benefit from and enjoy musical study. Lesson content is designed for each student based on their individual skills and goals. Students may choose to participate in musical activities such as studio recitals, school band, youth symphony, Solo and Ensemble Festival, honor groups, and Music Teachers' Association of California programs. The focus of lessons is on making music. Technique, theory, improvisation, composition, and performance confidence are taught at levels compatible with individual student goals.
Charlotte's students have participated in local and state honor groups and won awards in many events and solo competitions, including the MTAC Young Artist Guild. Some students from Charlotte's studio have completed undergraduate and graduate music degrees. Many others have continued to play clarinet in college and beyond just because they like it.
